9Dragons is a free online role-playing game supported by Acclaim in America and Europe. Unlike the majority of MMORPGs, this one has a unique theme. The game sets itself in ancient China, where legends of great warriors take place. Think of it as a MMORPG set in the time of the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" movie, for example.
You play the role of a martial artist, and you start a path towards the perfection of your technique. Although it is an MMO, the game features many nice touches, such as leveling. Although leveling is pretty much the same, it represents a step forward in mastering body and mind.
In this world there are several Clans, with different alignment towards the current Emperor. This causes a lot of conflicts and strife between warring clan members, that is why the PvP system in the game is very well implemented. The game lacks a bit of documentation, and this is a bit taxing for newbies. However, the game is free. You get some ads at the top of your game window, but they don't present much distraction. Although there are some areas where the game falls short, this is still a solid MMORPG. The best thing is that it is free, and it is a plus if you like the theme, as it is unique in the world of online gaming. |
